Indian Air Force introduced new induction scheme for Technical Branch (Officers Cadre) using Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) scores
Eligible candidates with valid GATE scores can apply for direct shortlisting for testing at Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs)
Selection will be based on merit, exempting candidates from preliminary written examination (Air Force Common Admission Test - AFCAT)
GATE Score scheme applies exclusively for induction into Technical Branch only
AFCAT continues as standard admission test for induction into all branches of IAF, including Technical Branch
Entry-level educational qualifications for GATE Score scheme remain consistent with existing Technical Branch induction criteria via AFCAT
