The Ministry of Defence announced the delivery of the indigenous stealth frigate 'Dunagiri' to the Indian Navy, marking a milestone in indigenous warship building.
The frigate, built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE), is the fifth vessel of the Nilgiri-class (Project 17A) and features advanced stealth, weaponry, and a 75% indigenous content.
The project involved over 200 MSMEs and generated significant employment, with the build time for this frigate compressed to 80 months, down from 93 months for the first of its class.
