Indian Railways Approves ₹1,364 Crore for Kavach and Signalling

Indian Railways sanctions ₹1,364.45 crore for safety and modernisation projects, including Kavach deployment and signalling upgrades.
Kavach systems will be installed on 232 Southern Railway locomotives at a cost of ₹208.81 crore.
Optical fibre network to be laid across 3,200+ route km in Northern Railway at a cost of ₹400.86 crore.
Electronic interlocking systems will be installed at 49 stations in South Central Railway for ₹578.02 crore.
