The Ministry of Railways organized a series of cultural and patriotic events leading up to Independence Day 2026. Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw led a Tiranga Rally within Rail Bhawan premises on the eve of Independence Day, with participation from Chairman & CEO of Railway Board Satish Kumar, Board Members, DGs, and other senior officials.

Indian Railways is participating in the nationwide 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, integrated with the third phase of commemorating 150 years of 'Vande Mataram'. The events included a quiz competition on '150 Years Journey of Vande Mataram' organized on August 10, 2026, at Rail Bhawan. A special cultural program on 'Patriotic Songs' was held on August 11, 2026, featuring musical performances. On August 14, 2026, a Mass Singing of 'Vande Mataram' was organized at Rail Bhawan.

These programs aimed to reinforce patriotism, national pride, and unity among railway officials and employees while commemorating the historic legacy of Vande Mataram. The celebrations reflect Indian Railways' participation in celebrating the nation's heritage and aspirations for a modern India.
