Indian Railways carried 741 crore passengers in 2025-26, a 3.54% increase, with passenger revenue reaching ₹80,000 crore, up 5.96%.
Freight loading hit a record 1,670 million tonnes, up 3.25%, with fertilizers and steel products each growing over 13%.
Key railway zones, including South Western Railway, reported double-digit growth, with the highest at 14.89% for SWR.
