Indian Naval Sail Training Ship INS Sudarshini arrived at Boston on July 12, 2026, following its participation in the Sail4th 250 celebrations at New York. The ship took part in the Grand Parade of Sails marking the commencement of Sail Boston 2026, with Shri Raghuram Sastry, Consul General of India in Boston, embarking the vessel for the ceremonial entry into Boston. During the parade, INS Sudarshini sailed with the Indian Tricolour past prominent landmarks including Castle Island and the Seaport District before berthing at Boston Fish Pier.
The ship is part of an international fleet of over 60 tall ships from more than 20 nations, representing India as a maritime ambassador of goodwill during its ongoing Lokayan 2026 transoceanic expedition. This participation reinforces the Indian Navy's commitment to maritime diplomacy, international goodwill, and cultural exchange. The ship will remain open to visitors from July 12 to 15, 2026, at Boston Fish Pier.
INS Sudarshini's port calls have included Norfolk, Baltimore, and New York prior to Boston, with the current participation further strengthening the growing India-US maritime partnership and showcasing India's rich seafaring heritage on the global stage. The event is part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.
