The Ministry of Education's Department of Higher Education is conducting Yuva Sangam Phase VI under its Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat flagship initiative. As part of the 13th of 22 planned tours, a student delegation from Jharkhand led by the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, is being hosted by the Indian Institute of Technology Indore under the Madhya Pradesh-Jharkhand state pairing program. The initiative aims to foster cultural exchange, national integration, and mutual understanding among Indian youth through experiential learning.
The delegation received a traditional welcome and engaged in various activities including an interaction with Madhya Pradesh Governor Shri Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel, where discussions focused on leadership, civic responsibility, and the role of youth in nation-building. The program included an introductory briefing session on Indian languages organized by the Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL) and health advisories due to prevailing summer conditions.
The cultural itinerary featured visits to prominent Indore landmarks including IMC Recycle Centre, Indra Bhawan, 56 Dukan, Lal Bagh, Rajwada, and the Light Show. The delegation also visited Maheshwar, the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering, Pithampur industrial hub, and the heritage city of Ujjain for darshan of Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, providing exposure to history, industry, and governance in Madhya Pradesh.
Wellness and civic activities included yoga and meditation sessions promoting physical and mental well-being, Shramdaan cleanliness activities fostering civic responsibility, and a plantation drive where Neem and Bel Patra saplings were planted to promote environmental conservation and sustainable living. These activities embody the core values of Yuva Sangam Phase VI focusing on wellness, sustainability, and responsible citizenship.
