Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy announced approval for 1,243 EV chargers in Karnataka with a ₹123.26 crore outlay under the PM E-DRIVE scheme.
Nationally, proposals worth ₹503.86 crore for 4,874 EV chargers have been approved, involving CPSEs like HPCL, IOCL, BPCL and multiple states.
The Ministry of Heavy Industries highlighted major initiatives including the ₹10,900 crore PM E-DRIVE and ₹25,938 crore PLI Auto schemes to boost EV adoption.
OMCs have installed 8,932 EV chargers under FAME-II with a ₹873.5 crore subsidy, including 721 chargers in Karnataka.
