Partnership Overview
The Government of Kerala, through the Kerala State IT Mission (KSITM), has appointed SAS, a global leader in data and AI, as its strategic analytics partner. The partnership is intended to strengthen governance, service delivery, and accountability across all social welfare programmes in the state, and to enhance transparency in beneficiary selection as well as disaster prevention, mitigation and response.
Objectives and Capabilities
The collaboration will leverage SAS’s advanced analytics platform to detect and eliminate duplicate citizen records using intelligent clustering and de‑duplication techniques. It will provide real‑time insights and advanced analytics to improve decision‑making, and will establish data‑driven monitoring frameworks to boost governance and compliance. By consolidating data and improving inter‑departmental communication, the initiative aims to optimise scheme management, inform policy decisions with data, improve expenditure planning, and simplify benefit delivery for citizens.
Statements from Key Officials
Sandip Kumar, IAS, Director of KSITM, said that Kerala has consistently been at the forefront of adopting digital technologies for governance and that the collaboration with SAS will further strengthen the state’s ability to use data and analytics to improve service delivery, drive efficiency, and make informed decisions that benefit citizens. Noshin Kagalwalla, Vice President – Public Sector, APAC & Managing Director of SAS India, expressed pride in partnering with the Government of Kerala and noted that SAS’s AI and analytics capabilities enable governments to turn complex data into meaningful insights, supporting smarter governance, improved outcomes, and citizen‑first innovation.
