2026 K‑Food Fair in New Delhi – Event Overview
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (Minister Song Mi‑ryung) and the Korea Agro‑Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT, President Hong Moon‑pyo) jointly hosted the “2026 K‑Food Fair in New Delhi, India” from Thursday, July 30 to Sunday, August 2, 2026. The fair aimed to support Korean food companies in expanding into the Indian and broader South Asian markets, leveraging India’s status as the world’s most populous country (approximately 1.47 billion people) and its position as the fourth‑largest economy by GDP with an annual growth rate of around 7 %.
B2B Export Consultation (July 30‑31)
A two‑day B2B Export Consultation was held at the Pullman Hotel, New Delhi Aerocity. Approximately 50 buyer companies from India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka participated in one‑on‑one business meetings. Products that generated strong interest included frozen gimbap, ginseng wine and kombucha, leading to the signing of memoranda of understanding (MOUs). An “On‑site Consulting Booth” was set up to assist exporters with non‑tariff barriers such as customs clearance and certification, receiving enthusiastic responses.
Pre‑Event Online Activities (July 20)
One week before the on‑site event, a webinar on Indian food import procedures, customs clearance systems, regulatory issues and local consumer trends was conducted on Monday, July 20. This was followed by preliminary online business meetings with around 10 buyers, which helped streamline subsequent face‑to‑face discussions.
B2C Consumer Experience Event (August 1‑2)
From Saturday, August 1 to Sunday, August 2, a two‑day B2C Consumer Experience Event took place at Ambience Mall, New Delhi’s largest retail complex. The most visited attraction was the “K‑Noodle Station,” featuring two automated Hangang River ramen cookers that replicated Seoul’s Hangang Park ramen‑eating culture, creating long queues and high visitor enthusiasm. Additional food booths, including a “Market Zone” (sales booths) and an “Open Kitchen,” showcased popular Korean street foods such as tteokbokki and gimbap. Experiential zones in collaboration with the Korea Tourism Organization offered a “Personal Color Test” and a “K‑Lifestyle Zone.” Live traditional performances and K‑Pop cover dances added a cultural dimension, turning the venue into a converged lifestyle space blending K‑Food, K‑FoodTech and K‑Tourism. The event attracted continuous local consumer footfall and went viral on social media, notably highlighted by popular YouTuber Go Toe‑kyung’s K‑Pop Random Play Dance, which resonated with young Indian fans.
Executive Commentary
Jeon Ki‑chan, Executive Vice President for Food Exporting at aT, stated that India’s massive population, youthful consumer demographic and rapid economic growth position it as a new market and a land of opportunity for K‑Food. He affirmed that the K‑Food Fair will serve as a stepping stone for aT to actively support domestic exporters in entering India and the South Asian region, while expanding touch points with local consumers to broaden K‑Food’s market territory.
