Announcement Overview

KRAFTON India announced the launch of two flagship Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) esports tournaments for the second half of 2026 – the BGMI International Cup (BMIC) and the BGMI Showdown (BMSD). Both events carry a prize pool of ₹1 crore each and are positioned as the premier competitive showcases for BGMI in India and the broader Asian region.

BGMI International Cup (BMIC)

The BMIC Grand Finals will take place from 30 October to 1 November 2026 at the Dome, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (SVP) Indoor Stadium in Mumbai. The tournament will feature 16 elite teams: 6 teams from India, 5 teams from Korea, and 5 teams from Japan. The competition is designed as an international spectacle, pitting India’s top squads against some of Asia’s strongest BGMI contenders in front of a live audience.

BGMI Showdown (BMSD)

BMSD is an invite‑only championship that will involve 48 of India’s top‑performing teams. Invitations are earned through performance on the KIE Leaderboard, BGIS, and BMPS. The tournament schedule is as follows:

  • Week 1 – Promotion/Relegation: 22‑24 September
  • Week 2 – Promotion/Relegation: 25‑27 September
  • Week 3 – Promotion/Relegation: 28‑30 September
  • Upper Bracket Survival: 1‑3 October
  • Lower Bracket Survival: 4‑6 October
  • Semi‑Finals: 8‑11 October
  • Last Chance: 12‑13 October
  • LAN Grand Finals: 16‑18 October, culminating in a ₹1 crore prize pool.
