The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) organized the 'Khadi Diwali Fest-2026' at NDMC Palika Park, Connaught Place, New Delhi, with the theme 'Khadi-wali Diwali'. The event aims to promote Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Har Ghar Swadeshi, Ghar Ghar Swadehi', 'Vocal for Local', and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' by encouraging citizens to adopt Khadi and Swadeshi products during Diwali and other festivals.

KVIC Chairman Manoj Goel emphasized that the Khadi sector has seen unprecedented progress under PM Modi's leadership, achieving a turnover exceeding Rs 1.87 lakh crore in financial year 2025-26 while providing employment to over 2.04 crore people. He expressed confidence that the sector will achieve a future turnover target of Rs 2.51 lakh crore.

The festival, which commenced on October 31, 2026, offers special discounts of 20% on Khadi products and 10% on Village Industry products. Goel specifically targeted Gen-Z youth, urging them to join the Swadeshi movement as consumers, brand ambassadors, designers, digital promoters, and entrepreneurs. To connect with younger audiences, KVIC has launched a podcast titled 'Baat Khadi Ki' exploring Khadi's legacy, modern fashion, innovation, and youth entrepreneurship.

The event reinforces the message that festive consumption of Swadeshi products directly benefits millions of artisans, weavers, rural entrepreneurs, and their families across the country, contributing to national economic strength and local employment.
