The Legislative Department of the Ministry of Law and Justice organized an E-Waste Workshop on September 23, 2026, as part of the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 Campaign. The event was held at the Conference Hall in Kartavya Bhawan-2, New Delhi, and was led by Shri G. Panmei, Joint Secretary & Legislative Counsel, with participation from senior officers and staff members.
The interactive workshop provided insights into the critical challenges and growing concerns associated with electronic waste (e-waste). Experts discussed the lifecycle of commonly used office electronic devices including computers, printers, cables, and mobile phones, while emphasizing the importance of preventing disposal of these items in regular waste bins.
Shri Panmei called upon all officers and staff members to contribute toward environmental protection by ensuring proper segregation, safe collection, and recycling of obsolete electronic items through authorized channels. The workshop highlighted the importance of responsible e-waste management in promoting resource recovery, encouraging reuse, and reducing environmental pollution.
