Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Smt. Nimbuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya, conducted a visit to the Food Corporation of India's Silo Plant at Kayavarohan in Vadodara on September 13, 2026. During the visit, the Minister interacted with senior FCI officials and received comprehensive briefings on the facilities, operations, and overall functioning of the silo plant. The inspection covered multiple operational aspects including grain storage systems, procurement processes, handling of wheat-carrying wagons, automation systems, and laboratory facilities. The Minister specifically reviewed details related to the plant's functioning and the various processes involved in the handling and storage of foodgrains. FCI Gujarat Region was represented by General Manager Shri Sudesh Kumar Yadav, Deputy General Manager Shri Amit Tiwari, and Divisional Manager for FCI Vadodara Division Shri Sham Lal, along with other senior officials who were present during the visit. As part of the activities, the Minister also participated in a plantation drive at the facility.
