Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Smt. Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya, conducted an official visit to the Food Corporation of India's Silo Plant at Kayavarohan in Vadodara on September 13, 2026. During the visit, the Minister interacted with senior FCI officials and received comprehensive briefings on the facilities, operations, and overall functioning of the silo plant. She personally inspected various operational aspects including grain storage systems, procurement processes, handling of wheat-carrying wagons, automation systems, and laboratory facilities. The Minister reviewed detailed information related to the plant's functioning and the various processes involved in the handling and storage of foodgrains, focusing specifically on FCI's modern storage and automated grain handling capabilities. As part of the visit, Smt. Bambhaniya also participated in a plantation drive at the facility. FCI Gujarat Region was represented by General Manager Shri Sudesh Kumar Yadav, Deputy General Manager Shri Amit Tiwari, and Divisional Manager for FCI Vadodara Division Shri Sham Lal, along with other senior officials who were present during the ministerial visit.
