The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has launched green initiatives including the Green Tug Transition Programme, renewable energy adoption, and port equipment electrification.
Three major ports have been designated as Green Hydrogen Hubs, and 180 port development projects were approved in the last two years.
The Ministry has set 2030 targets for renewable energy share, equipment electrification, and reductions in carbon emissions and water use.
