India Mining Week 2026 Announcement
The Ministry of Mines, through Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, has officially announced India Mining Week 2026, the country's largest conference-cum-exhibition for the mining and minerals sector. The event is scheduled to be held from November 15-17, 2026, at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi. The announcement was made during a curtain raiser event where Minister Reddy, along with Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey, unveiled the summit logo and brochure.
Event Scale and Participation
The summit is expected to attract 25,000+ industry professionals and decision-makers, 500+ exhibitors and technology providers, 200+ eminent speakers, and participants from 50+ countries. The event will feature 100+ conference sessions and technical presentations, with participation from 1,000+ government and PSU delegates and 300+ mining and mineral companies. It will include dedicated B2B meetings, networking platforms, technology demonstrations, and product launches.
Strategic Themes and Focus Areas
The event is organized under the theme "Stronger Resources, Smarter Mining, Sustainable Tomorrow" and will focus on critical minerals, coal, metals, and mining innovation. Discussions will cover mineral security, exploration, digitization, automation, mine safety, sustainability, resource efficiency, and the future of mining. The exhibition will showcase advancements in mining equipment, technologies, automation solutions, safety systems, mineral processing, and sustainability initiatives.
Policy Context and Reforms
Minister Reddy highlighted transformative reforms undertaken over the past decade, including transparent auctions, commercial coal mining, accelerated exploration, ease of doing business, and technology-led governance. Secretary Vikram Dev Dutt noted that India has achieved over one billion tonnes of coal production for two consecutive years and crossed one billion tonnes of coal supply, strengthening energy security and economic resilience.
Key Launches
During the event, ministers launched two significant initiatives: the Online Portal Application for Registration of Coal Exchanges and the Eighth Tranche of Auction of Critical and Strategic Mineral Blocks. Secretary Piyush Goyal emphasized that the 8th round of auctions will strengthen domestic availability of critical minerals and encourage private sector participation.

The ministers emphasized that India's mining sector is emerging as a key driver of economic growth, regional development, and employment generation. The event aims to support India's vision of Aatmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat by showcasing India's mineral potential and technological capabilities while fostering international collaboration and investment in the sector.
