The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals (DCPC), Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, is organizing CHEMCONNECT 2026, a one-day Industry-Academia Event. The event will take place on August 25, 2026, at the Student Activity Centre (SAC) Hall at IIT Madras.
The event is specifically organized to facilitate the 18 Centres of Excellence established by the Department under the scheme \"Setting up of Centres of Excellence (CoE) in the field of Chemicals and Petrochemicals.\" It is being executed by the Centre of Excellence in Biodegradable Packaging Materials (CoE BioPack) and the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Madras, in collaboration with CIPET.
CHEMCONNECT 2026 is designed as an inventors-and-industry meet to facilitate direct dialogue without intermediaries. The event will showcase technologies, prototypes, and patents developed by these Centres of Excellence with the specific aim of commercialization. Principal Investigators from the CoEs will exhibit their work at dedicated stalls and interact directly with industry representatives to explore opportunities for collaboration, licensing, and technology transfer. The event provides a structured platform for industry leaders, start-ups, MSMEs, researchers, policymakers, incubators, and investors seeking strategic partnerships.
