The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare is conducting the 'Khet Bachao Abhiyan–Rabi 2026' campaign nationwide from October 22 to November 30, 2026, through its two departments. The primary objective is to ensure farmers receive direct information about latest agricultural technologies and government schemes through village awareness programs, with specific focus on improved rabi crop management and increased agricultural productivity through modern technologies. The campaign implements the 'Lab to Land' concept where agricultural scientists visit farmers' fields to share scientific techniques and research-based knowledge.

In Delhi, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Ujwa is conducting special awareness programs across 25 locations in South-West, North-West and North districts from October 22 to November 30, 2026. Each team comprises 4-5 subject-matter experts, scientists, department officials, and innovative farmers, with senior scientists from Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Pusa participating to share latest agricultural technologies. The programs facilitate direct farmer-expert interaction to bridge the gap between agricultural research and practical field application.

Specific program in Qazipur village on October 27, 2026 focused on sensitizing farmers about soil health conservation, timely agricultural operations for rabi season, balanced fertilizer use, and natural farming practices. Scientists provided information on maintaining soil fertility, undertaking essential operations at right time, and scientific use of fertilizers based on actual requirements. Emphasis was placed on balanced fertilizer application based on soil health and efficient management of agricultural resources.

For the upcoming rabi season, farmers received detailed information about improved high-yielding wheat varieties, appropriate crop management practices, and balanced fertilizer application. They were educated about regular monitoring of mustard crops, early identification of major pests and diseases, and appropriate management measures to prevent crop damage and achieve better yields. The program highlighted sustainable agricultural practices including natural farming, conservation of natural resources, and maintaining soil health, encouraging judicious use of resources and environmentally friendly farming technologies to support long-term soil fertility and improve resource-use efficiency.
