Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah will attend the 5th Foundation Day Ceremony of the Ministry of Cooperation at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on 6 July 2026. The ceremony aligns with the vision of 'Sahakar Se Samriddhi' of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and highlights five years of transformative initiatives for Primary Agricultural Credit Societies, cooperative banks, dairy cooperatives, urban cooperatives, national-level cooperative institutions and multi-state cooperative societies.

Key Initiatives and Projects

Shri Amit Shah will transfer 135 godowns, inaugurate 85 godowns, and lay the foundation stone for 47 grain storage godowns under the World's Largest Grain Storage Scheme, totaling 232 grain storage facilities. A major digital transformation initiative will convert 50,000 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) into e-PACS, representing significant digital empowerment of grassroots cooperative institutions.

Cooperative Infrastructure Development

The event includes Bhoomi Pujan of 'Sahakar Van', a 64-acre cooperative forestation project by Amul and NCCF. Additionally, Bhoomi Pujan will be performed for tissue culture facilities of Bharatiya Beej Sahkari Samiti Limited (BBSSL) at Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh and Jalgaon in Maharashtra.

Digital Platform Launches

Two major digital initiatives of National Urban Cooperative Finance and Development Corporation Limited (NUCFDC) will be unveiled: Sahakar CBS, a centralized core banking platform, and Sahakar Sahyogi, a conversational AI-powered platform for Urban Cooperative Banks. The event will also feature the launch of NCD 3.0 and geo-tag mobile application, plus NDDB's Milk Supply Review Dashboard Portal.

New Cooperative Entities and Agreements

Shri Amit Shah will inaugurate Cooperative Milk Producers Organisation Multi-State Limited and Gomay Cooperative Society Multi-State Limited. A Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between BBSSL and ICAR for strengthening seed systems. Model bye-laws for dairy cooperative societies will be released, along with a book highlighting the Ministry's achievements over the past five years.

The ceremony will be attended by Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh (Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying and Panchayati Raj), Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma (Chief Minister of Rajasthan), Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar (Minister of State for Cooperation), and Shri Murlidhar Mohol (Minister of State for Cooperation and Civil Aviation). Senior officers including Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani (Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation), Shri Atish Chandra (Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare), and Shri Naresh Pal Gangwar (Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying) will also be present, along with representatives from national cooperative institutions, cooperative federations, and stakeholders.
