The Ministry of Defence organised a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp at Kartavya Bhavan-2, New Delhi on October 01, 2026, in collaboration with the Armed Forces Transfusion Centre, to mark National Voluntary Blood Donation Day. The event was conducted under the theme 'One Drop of Humanity, Give Blood, Save Lives' and involved a dedicated medical team comprising two Medical Officers, two Junior Commissioned Officers, and 10 Paramedical Staff (Blood Transfusion Assistants) with proper medical equipment and facilities. A total of 134 officers and officials from the Ministry of Defence participated in the donation drive, with all donors undergoing prior counselling and health screening to ensure safety and compliance with medical standards. Senior officials including Chief of Defence Staff and Secretary of Department of Military Affairs General N S Raja Subramani, Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh, and Secretary of Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare Smt Sukriti Likhi participated in the initiative. The camp aimed to highlight the importance of voluntary blood donation and encourage contributions toward saving lives, reaffirming the Ministry's commitment to promoting blood donation and ensuring availability of safe blood for patients in need.
