The Ministry of Mines is launching Special Campaign 6.0 from October 2 to October 31, 2026, with a specific focus on effective collection, segregation, and disposal of e-waste. This initiative builds upon the achievements of Special Campaign 5.0 and subsequent efforts from November 2025 to August 2026, during which the Ministry and its field organizations addressed 1,772 public grievances, weeded out 3,751 physical files, freed over 1.7 lakh square feet of office space, and generated approximately ₹19.33 crore in revenue through scrap disposal from 116 campaigns.

The campaign consists of two phases: a Preparatory Phase from September 15-30, 2026, focusing on identifying targets for disposing pending references from MPs, PMO, State Governments, public grievances, appeals, and parliamentary assurances, and an Implementation Phase from October 2-31, 2026, for achieving these targets through coordinated efforts across the Ministry, its attached and subordinate offices, CPSEs, and autonomous bodies.

A key component of Special Campaign 6.0 is the nomination of JNARDDC (an autonomous body under the Ministry) in collaboration with MRAI to facilitate the setup of e-waste collection booths at GPOA and various Ministry of Mines offices, as well as at government offices across different states and locations. This initiative aims to facilitate recycling and recovery of critical minerals from e-waste, aligning with the objectives of the National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM). The campaign reinforces the Ministry's commitment to swachhata, sustainability, efficient governance, and responsible resource management while contributing to broader national sustainable development objectives.
