The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs organized the prize distribution function for the 58th Youth Parliament Competition 2025-26 at the GMC Balayogi Auditorium in Parliament House Complex, New Delhi. The event was presided over by Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ministry of Law and Justice and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, who distributed prizes to winning schools and students.
Bal Bharti Public School, Parwana Road, Pitampura, Delhi emerged as the overall winner, receiving both the "G.V. Mavalankar Running Parliamentary Shield" and the trophy for standing first in the competition, as well as the trophy for securing first position among new entrant schools. The school presented a repeat performance of their Youth Parliament sitting during the event.
Eleven schools received merit trophies: Dr. B. R. Ambedkar CM Shri School (Dwarka Sector-22), Navyug School (Peshwa Road), Presentation Convent Sr. Sec. School (S. P. Mukherjee Marg), Baba Neem Karoli Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya (Jonapur), Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya (Prahladpur), Govt. Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya No. 1 Urdu Medium (Jama Masjid), Atal Adarsh Vidyalaya (Gole Market), Dr. B. R. Ambedkar CM Shri School (Sector-17, Rohini), Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya No. 1 (Yamuna Vihar, C-Block), Ishani Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya (G-Block, Saket), and Kerala Sr. Sec. School (Vikaspuri).
Minister Meghwal highlighted the important role of Youth Parliament in nurturing future leaders, emphasizing that such programs help inculcate leadership qualities and democratic values among young minds. He encouraged students to pursue excellence while remaining guided by good values and national responsibility. Secretary Nikunja Bihari Dhal noted that the program develops critical thinking and promotes respect for diverse opinions, while Additional Secretary Dr. Satya Prakash stated it inculcates democratic values and parliamentary ethos among younger generations.
The Ministry has been organizing Youth Parliament Competitions for schools in the National Capital Territory of Delhi for the past 60 years, aiming to develop self-discipline, tolerance of diverse opinions, effective expression of views, and other democratic virtues among students.
