The week-long Vande Mataram Camp 2026, organized by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, concluded on June 30, 2026 at Brainware University in Barasat, Kolkata. The camp commemorated the 150th anniversary of the national song 'Vande Mataram' and brought together 150 youth delegates from six states and union territories: Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
The camp focused on strengthening national integration, cultural exchange, and youth leadership through various activities held from June 24 to June 30, 2026. Participants engaged in expert-led sessions on the Indian Constitution, Directive Principles of State Policy, government flagship initiatives, and leadership development. Interactive activities promoted teamwork, critical thinking, and collaborative learning.
The program served as a platform for promoting Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat through peer learning sessions, cultural exchanges, and traditional art demonstrations celebrating India's cultural diversity. Delegates showcased customs, traditions, and folk heritage from their respective states. An educational visit to the ancestral residence and museum of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay provided historical context about the national song and India's freedom movement.
Community service initiatives included a cleanliness drive, plantation drive, and Nasha Mukt Bharat Pledge, focusing on environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and drug-free India. Group presentations addressed rural livelihoods, sustainable development, and technology-driven social impact. The valedictory session was attended by Shri Pijush Kanti Das, Director of the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Government of West Bengal, along with senior officials from MY Bharat and Brainware University. The camp concluded with a collective rendition of Vande Mataram, symbolizing unity and patriotism.
