PMFME Conclave 2026 Concludes with Stakeholder Recognition
The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) concluded the two-day PMFME Conclave 2026 held on August 24-25, 2026, at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The event focused on sharing implementation experiences, strengthening stakeholder capacity, and recognizing excellence under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme.
Participant Composition and Scale
The Conclave brought together over 500 stakeholders from across India, including representatives from States and Union Territories, State Nodal Departments/Agencies, District Nodal Officers (DNOs), District Resource Persons (DRPs), banks and financial institutions, various Ministries and Government organizations, technical institutions, industry bodies, incubation centers, and PMFME beneficiaries.
Conference Sessions and Content
The second day featured a PMFME Experience Sharing Session where five States presented their best practices and implementation experiences. DNOs and DRPs shared field experiences highlighting successful interventions and innovative approaches for grassroots implementation. A dedicated session on "NIFTEMs – State-of-the-Art Facilities – Handholding PMFME Implementation" was led by Dr. Harinder Singh Oberoi, Director of NIFTEM-Kundli, and Prof. V. Palanimuthu, Director of NIFTEM-Thanjavur, emphasizing the role of technical institutions in providing technology, training, and handholding support. A Training Session on SNA Sparsh was organized to strengthen State-level stakeholder capacity, followed by a motivational session by Shiv Khera on leadership and entrepreneurship.
Awards and Recognition
The PMFME Award Ceremony recognized top-performing stakeholders across multiple categories. Awards were presented to top-performing States and Union Territories categorized by size (Large, Medium, and Small States/UTs), banks across all categories, and State Rural Livelihood Missions (SRLMs) and State Urban Livelihood Missions (SULMs) for their Scheme contributions. The Ministry also recognized outstanding individual performers with awards for the top two DNOs and DRPs from Large States, and one DNO and DRP each from Medium States and Small States/UTs for exemplary performance.
The Conclave served as a platform for showcasing PMFME beneficiary achievements and strengthening market linkages, reaffirming the Ministry's commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive, and market-oriented ecosystem for micro food processing enterprises.
