The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), in collaboration with the Government of Delhi, is organizing a 'Transport Mela' under the PARIVARTAN Scheme on October 28, 2026, at the Vehicle Inspection Unit near the District Transport Office in Burari, North Delhi. The event will commence at 9:30 AM and serve as a comprehensive facilitation center for old truck and bus owners seeking to replace their vehicles with cleaner alternatives.
Multiple stakeholders including vehicle Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and their dealers, Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities (RVSFs), banks, Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs), Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), and City Gas Distribution (CGD) entities will participate. These representatives will provide on-the-spot guidance and assistance covering vehicle scrapping procedures, financing options for new vehicles, purchase assistance, and information about fuel-related benefits and other applicable incentives.
The PARIVARTAN Scheme offers substantial incentives to promote the replacement of old vehicles in Delhi-NCR, including a minimum 8% discount from OEMs, 5% interest subvention on vehicle loans, 100% road tax concession for 10 years, one-time benefits for electric vehicles (EVs), monthly fuel vouchers, and waiver of registration fees where applicable. As of the announcement date, approximately 40,000 beneficiaries have registered on the PARIVARTAN portal, indicating significant uptake of the scheme.
