MoSPI Releases 121st Issue of Sarvekshana Journal
The National Statistical Systems Training Academy (NSSTA) under the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI) released the 121st issue of Sarvekshana, the premier bi-annual Journal of Official Statistics. This journal serves as a prominent platform for disseminating research based on data from the National Sample Survey (NSS) and other official statistics, recognized for its academic rigor and policy relevance.
The current issue features three technical papers that have undergone rigorous peer-review and editorial processes. The first paper examines the 'Impact of In-kind Social Transfer on Level of Living of Indian Households,' analyzing how social transfers affect household living standards. The second paper studies the 'Role of Size of Factories in Efficiency' using data from the Annual Survey of Industries (ASI) 2022–23, providing insights into industrial productivity patterns. The third paper investigates the 'Effect of Adopting PPS Circular Systematic Sampling in Annual Survey of Industries' through a simulation study, contributing to methodological advancements in statistical sampling.
Additionally, the issue presents highlights from two major surveys conducted by the NSS: the Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE) 2025, covering data from January to December 2025, and the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) 2025, also covering January to December 2025. These survey highlights provide key insights into the unorganized sector and labor market trends, offering valuable data for researchers, policymakers, and users of official statistics.
The journal is circulated among researchers, data users, Ministries/Departments, and reputed national and international institutions. Through this publication, NSSTA reaffirms its commitment to fostering research in official statistics, encouraging wider application of statistical data, and strengthening analytical foundations for evidence-based policymaking. The 121st issue can be accessed on the official websites www.mospi.gov.in and www.nssta.gov.in.
