Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah launched NAFED's digital auction portal 'NAFEX.in' on June 23, 2026, at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan in New Delhi. The event was attended by Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, NAFED Chairman Shri Jethabhai Ahir, Managing Director Shri Deepak Agarwal, and senior officials.
During the program, multiple digital and farmer-centric initiatives were launched. The NAFEX.in portal is designed to strengthen transparency, efficiency, and ease of operations in the agricultural produce auction process, providing a digital platform for streamlining auction-related activities. Additionally, the Minister launched the NAFED-KALYAN scholarship program for children of farmers, with scholarship cheques distributed during the event, demonstrating NAFED's commitment to farmer welfare and education support.
Other digital initiatives included the DRISHTI portal for inventory management of pulses and oilseeds and an ERP portal for strengthening enterprise resource planning. A live registration demonstration and launch of the auction process on NAFEX.in was conducted during the program.
Following the launch, Shri Amit Shah met with NAFED's Board of Directors, where a presentation was made on NAFED's activities and progress, including action taken on previous directions from the Union Minister and the future roadmap. These initiatives align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Sahkar Se Samriddhi' and the government's efforts to strengthen cooperative institutions through technology, transparency, and farmer-centric reforms.
