The three organizations serve distinct functions: NCOL and NCEL facilitate aggregation and procurement of organic and other agricultural produce respectively, providing value-added services including quality testing, branding, packaging, certification, and domestic and international marketing. BBSSL ensures availability of quality, certified, and affordable seeds to farmers. Membership across these organizations is predominantly composed of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), whose members are primarily small and marginal farmers, ensuring benefits reach this demographic including in tribal-dominated areas like Palghar in Maharashtra and Rajasthan.
