The National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa (NISR) in Leh organized a plantation drive and cleanliness campaign at its Trans-Himalayan Herbal Garden in Phey on World Environment Day. The event was inaugurated by former Member of Parliament for Ladakh, Shri Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, who planted an apple tree in the herbal garden as a symbol of environmental stewardship and commitment to conservation.

Following the inauguration, Namgyal was given a guided tour of the herbal garden where he was briefed about the diverse medicinal and aromatic plant species being conserved and cultivated. He appreciated the institute's efforts toward preservation, research, and promotion of the region's rich herbal heritage. Faculty members, staff, and students enthusiastically participated in the plantation and cleanliness activities within and around the garden premises.
