Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation established India's first Municipal Textile Recovery Facility under Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0.
Facility has collected 30 MT of textile waste, processed 41,000 items, and created livelihoods for 150+ women earning ₹9,000-15,000 monthly.
Initiative includes 140+ collection bins, fiber identification technology, and has reached 114,575 families through 75+ awareness workshops.
Program demonstrates circular economy model with 400+ upcycled products and textile-to-paper pilot, reducing landfill waste.
