The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) announced the 10 winners of its online 'Human Rights Quiz-2026: Celebrating Life, Liberty, Equality and Dignity' organized in collaboration with MyGov. The quiz was conducted from 1st September to 10th October 2026 in the run-up to NHRC's 33rd Foundation Day, aiming to promote awareness about human rights, the Protection of Human Rights Act (PHRA), 1993, and NHRC's functions, powers and duties in promoting and protecting human rights across India.
The competition saw participation from all States and Union Territories of India, attracting 1,67,127 views with 26,459 submissions. Most participants were in the age group of 18-24 years, with Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu recording the highest state-wise participation. A total of 5,753 participants secured a perfect score of 15 out of 15, from which the 10 winners were selected through a draw of lots conducted by the MyGov team as per the quiz terms and conditions. Participants were required to answer a maximum of 15 questions within 300 seconds.
The prize distribution included a first prize of ₹15,000 won by Ms. Aarti Mahajan, a second prize of ₹10,000 won by Ms. Ritika, and a third prize of ₹5,000 won by Ms. Tooba Benazeer. Seven consolation prizes of ₹2,000 each were awarded to Shri Aditya Gupta, Shri Tarun, Shri Rani Mandal, Shri Basant Kumar Mahato, Shri Likhth Kumar A, and Ms. Deepika Madasu.
