The National Homoeopathy Research Institute in Mental Health (NHRIMH), Kottayam, under the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), Ministry of Ayush, organized a National Seminar on "Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Clinical Practice and Homoeopathy" on August 31, 2026. The event was held at the NHRIMH Auditorium in Kottayam under the theme "Where Intelligence Meets Compassion" and brought together experts, academicians, researchers, clinicians, practitioners, and students to deliberate on emerging AI applications in healthcare and homoeopathic research.
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ministry of Ayush, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, addressed the program virtually, highlighting the growing relevance of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare and emphasizing the importance of informed discussions on its responsible application in homoeopathy. Dr. Subhash Kaushik, Director General of CCRH, emphasized during the inaugural session that researchers and academicians need to understand both the capabilities and ethical dimensions of AI to ensure responsible application in healthcare and research.
The seminar deliberations underscored that AI adoption in healthcare must be supported by human oversight, scientific validation, data credibility, and appropriate ethical safeguards. On this occasion, nine Memoranda of Understanding were signed with Homoeopathic Medical Colleges and Hospitals to strengthen academic collaboration in psychiatry and mental health. An additional MoU was signed with Sevabharathi, Ettumanoor, for interdisciplinary research and institutional collaboration.
Dr. Debadatta Nayak, Assistant Director (Homoeopathy) and Officer-in-Charge of NHRIMH, reported that representatives from approximately 12 Homoeopathic Medical Colleges across India, along with practitioners and faculty members from Kerala, participated in the seminar. The technical program comprised four sessions focusing on AI in clinical decision support, applications of AI in homoeopathy, and ethical aspects of AI in clinico-fundamental research. Other notable speakers included Dr. K. C. Muraleedharan (Deputy Director General, CCRH), Dr. Janardhanan Nair (Former President, Medical Assessment and Rating Board, National Commission for Homoeopathy), and Prof. (Dr.) Eswara Das (Chairman, Regional Scientific Advisory Committee, NHRIMH).
The seminar reflects CCRH and NHRIMH's commitment toward scientific innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and responsible adoption of emerging technologies in homoeopathic research and clinical practice. The initiative is expected to strengthen academic and research networks while facilitating informed dialogue on opportunities and challenges presented by AI in healthcare and homoeopathy.
