The India VIX, which measures implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, jumped 24.83% to 14.54, reflecting heightened market nervousness.

Commodity and Currency Markets

Gold futures for August delivery fell 2.20% (91.28 points) to $4,066.12 per ounce. Crude oil for August delivery rose 4.95% (3.49 points) to $73.93 a barrel, while the September Brent contract gained 5.10% (3.78 points) to $77.94 a barrel.

Foreign Exchange

The USD/INR spot rate increased 0.72% to 95.64, and the EUR/INR rose 0.63% to 109.06. The US Dollar Index Futures were up 0.06% at 100.84.
