Losses in Metals, Real Estate and Oil & Gas sectors drove declines, while Tata Motors surged 5.14% to 356.15 rupees.
Hindalco fell 3.47% to 1,065 rupees, Tata Steel dropped 1.96% to 216.80, and Nestle slipped 1.88% to 1,432.20.
India VIX rose to 18.80, gold futures fell to $4,557.01, crude oil rose to $104.51, and USD/INR edged higher to 95.77.
