The National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) celebrated its 23rd Foundation Day, marking over two decades of supporting India's internet ecosystem. The event brought together policymakers, industry leaders, academia, and technology experts to reflect on India's digital journey and discuss future internet-led growth.

MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan launched four new digital initiatives: the IX Portal, myIRINN Portal, .IN Auction Portal, and an AI-Powered WHOIS Screening Platform. These platforms aim to enhance user experience, improve operational efficiency, bring transparency, and strengthen monitoring and verification processes across India's internet ecosystem. The AI-powered WHOIS screening platform specifically targets enhanced domain name security and detection of suspicious websites to strengthen India's .in domain space.

NIXI's current operational statistics show significant scale: management of over 39 lakh .IN domain names, operation of 79 Internet Exchange Points across the country, support for domain registrations in 22 Indian languages, and IPv6 adoption reaching approximately 78.34% across India, positioning the country as a global leader in IPv6 adoption.

Key officials emphasized the importance of building trust, resilience and security as digital technologies become integrated into daily lives. The organization remains committed to enhancing internet resilience and enabling a secure and inclusive digital ecosystem for citizens, businesses, and institutions across the country as India continues its journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047.
