National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Cultus Education launched a nationwide cloud and AI skilling initiative in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS). The program aims to equip 150,000 learners with foundational AI and cloud literacy through AWS digital training content and provide intensive, job-ready training to 10,000 participants through the AWS re/Start program.
The initiative specifically targets youth in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities across all states and territories, addressing challenges including limited access to globally recognized technical training, few connections to technology employers, and absence of credentials needed for cloud and AI roles. The program will be delivered 100% online through Cultus as the NSDC-selected delivery partner, making it accessible without requiring relocation to metropolitan centers.
The training pathway begins with online registration and self-paced AWS digital training content for foundational skills. Participants demonstrating readiness can progress to AWS re/Start, which provides structured, instructor-led training in cloud infrastructure, security, networking, and AI fundamentals through real-world-scenario-based learning, hands-on labs, and coursework. Graduates will earn AWS Certification - an industry-recognized credential - and gain access to qualified interview opportunities with local employers. The learning journey culminates in a National Hackathon where participants can showcase their cloud and AI solutions before hiring managers and industry leaders.
Minister Jayant Chaudhary emphasized that this initiative reflects the vision of Viksit Bharat where access to opportunity is not determined by geography or background, noting that such initiatives are essential for building an inclusive, skilled, and future-ready workforce central to India's journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047. The initiative is designed to create meaningful social and economic impact by expanding access to high-quality technology training and employment opportunities for youth across India, particularly in underserved and emerging talent hubs.
