Ukrainian drones hit the Apatit JSC fertilizer plant in Vologda, owned by PhosAgro PJSC, damaging a sulfuric acid pipeline and injuring five workers.
Regional governor Georgy Filimonov said the leak was contained with no hazardous chemicals released into the environment.
The strike follows a previous attack this month, raising concerns as global fertilizer prices have doubled since the Middle East war and the Strait of Hormuz shutdown.
Russia and China’s export curbs, combined with the strike, could heighten price volatility in agricultural commodities and threaten food security.
