PIB Fact Check Unit Counters Misinformation with Over 2,900 Fact Checks

The PIB Fact Check Unit has published over 2,900 fact checks to combat misinformation, including AI-generated deepfakes and fake news.
During Operation Sindoor, the unit identified and acted against 1,400 URLs for spreading misinformation and anti-India narratives.
The unit operates under IT Rules 2021, providing a code of ethics and a three-level grievance redressal mechanism for digital media.
