PIB Fact Check Unit Issues Over 2,900 Fact-Checks, Blocks 1,400 URLs

The PIB Fact Check Unit has published over 2,900 fact-checks to counter misinformation and fake news related to the Central Government.
During Operation Sindoor, the unit identified and acted against hostile narratives, leading to the blocking of over 1,400 URLs on digital media platforms.
The legal framework for this action is supported by the IT Rules, 2021, which establish a grievance redressal mechanism for digital media content.
