PIB Fact-Check Unit Issues Over 2,900 Fact-Checks

The PIB Fact-Check Unit has issued over 2,900 fact-checks to combat misinformation, deepfakes, and false claims against the Central Government.
During Operation Sindoor, the unit actively countered false narratives and led to the blocking of over 1,400 URLs on digital media.
The Information Technology Rules 2021 establish a Code of Ethics and a three-level grievance mechanism for digital media.
