Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav Global Sammelan at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on October 23, 2026. The event marked a celebration of the Chinmaya Mission's decades of service to communities and sharing of India's spiritual wisdom globally. PM Modi described the mission as not merely an institution but a profound 'Chinmaya' thought established by a sage, noting its journey has been filled with sacred resolutions.

The event featured a Holobot interaction with Revered Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, which PM Modi stated transported him back to his 1993 meeting with the spiritual leader in Vadodara. He recalled inviting Swamiji to Chicago for the centenary of the Parliament of the World's Religions, marking 100 years of Swami Vivekananda's historic address, though Swamiji passed away before the event.

PM Modi highlighted the mission's youth engagement efforts, noting that young volunteers covered 40,000 kilometers over 300 days to engage with over one lakh young citizens. He emphasized that millions of youth through the Chinmaya Mission are serving as India's cultural brand ambassadors, passing Indian values to new generations.

The Prime Minister connected the mission's work to India's broader cultural renaissance, noting over 100 Chinmaya educational institutions are shaping the future of lakhs of students across the country by providing modern education while imbibing Indian values. He referenced the National Education Policy's integration of Indian knowledge tradition, mother tongue education, and modern science.

PM Modi also highlighted Swami Chinmayananda's role in preserving Indian heritage, including his support for building the Vivekananda Rock Memorial at Kanyakumari and making the first financial contribution to the project. The Prime Minister noted the government's efforts in cultural revitalization, including the restoration of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, and the repatriation of over 650 ancient idols in the past 12 years.

The event concluded with PM Modi drawing parallels between the Chinmaya Mission's centenary journey and India's 2047 Viksit Bharat development goal, stating both share identical goals and must advance together.
