AI for All Project – Consortium Selection

South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT announced the selection of a consortium comprising SK Telecom, Kakao and KT to operate the government‑backed AI for All project. The ministry assessed six applicant consortia through written submissions and presentation reviews before appointing the three firms, as reported by Yonhap and the Seoul Economic Daily.

The AI for All initiative is designed to provide all citizens with free access to a general‑purpose AI chatbot and a public AI agent capable of handling administrative procedures. Both services will be built on domestically developed AI models, ensuring that the technology remains home‑grown.

To support the rollout, the selected operators will receive a total of 512 units of NVIDIA’s B200 GPUs during the current year. Commencing in 2027, the Korean government will finance the costs associated with delivering the service nationwide through its budgetary allocations.

This project marks a coordinated effort between leading telecommunications and internet service providers and the state to expand AI accessibility across the public sector.
