The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, through its Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, launched the SHATAYU (Senior Holistic Care Assistance and Training for Your Utility) Dashboard on May 22, 2026. This platform serves as a registration system for trained geriatric caregivers to offer their services to senior citizens across India. The dashboard is managed by the National Institute of Social Defence (NISD), an autonomous body under the ministry that is also responsible for training geriatric caregivers.

To strengthen the database, caregivers trained during 2023-24 and earlier years were given the opportunity to self-register on the SHATAYU dashboard. This initiative aims to maximize the number of geriatric caregivers available on the platform, enabling more senior citizens to access their services. The ministry notes that enrollment numbers depend on training center locations, with candidates typically mobilized from nearby areas, which may result in concentration of trainees from specific districts, cities, or towns.

The technical teams are continuously monitoring entries and making regular interventions to streamline data through an ongoing process. The ministry acknowledges initial technical glitches that are being addressed by their technical support team. They specifically warn against misleading information circulating on social media platforms about the dashboard and urge citizens not to rely on such posts. The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment reaffirms its commitment to building an inclusive and age-responsive ecosystem that supports the well-being of senior citizens across India.
