The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment organized a Shramdaan (voluntary labor) cleanliness activity at the Mahila Imdad Committee in Paharganj, Delhi on October 1, 2026, as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign. The event was led by Shri B.L. Verma, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, and followed the campaign theme 'Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath' (One Day, One Hour, Together).

During the activity, Shri Verma briefed participants about the Swachh Bharat Mission, which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 2, 2014, as a national movement across India. He highlighted the achievements made under the movement and emphasized the importance of Jan Bhagidari (public participation) in sustaining the momentum of the cleanliness movement. Shri Verma appealed to citizens to make cleanliness an integral part of their daily routine and collectively contribute to keeping homes, workplaces, and public spaces clean.

Officers from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) actively participated in the Shramdaan activity. Participants collectively undertook cleanliness and sanitation activities at and around the premises, reaffirming their commitment to the spirit of public participation. The initiative reflects the Ministry's commitment to the objectives of Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 and the broader vision of a Swachh Bharat (Clean India) and Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
