Regulatory Simplification Measures

STPI implemented several measures to improve ease of doing business including automation of statutory services such as SOFTEX filing and approval, integration with RBI's Export Data Processing and Monitoring System (EDPMS) for real-time data sharing, replacement of case-to-case import permissions with blanket annual permissions, and substitution of prior Domestic Tariff Area sales permissions with self-declaration requirements (except for first-year advance sales). These initiatives aim to reduce manual intervention, enhance transparency, and streamline regulatory compliance for IT/ITeS exporters.

The information was presented by Union Minister of Electronics and IT Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw in Lok Sabha on August 12, 2026, highlighting the government's ongoing support for IT sector expansion through the STP scheme.
