The documentary “1947: Brexit India” re‑examines India’s Independence and Partition through an economic and geopolitical lens, covering 338 years of British presence.
It is an official selection of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2023 and will premiere digitally on a leading OTT platform.
Produced by Dr. Swarnjit Singh, written by Shama Zaidi, directed by Sanjivan Lal, narrated by Boman Irani, with contributions from historians William Dalrymple, Commodore Uday Bhaskar, Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmed, and Shashi Tharoor.
A special screening was held at PVR Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, attended by diplomats, historians, senior media professionals, and policymakers.
