TNEPIC 2026 Conference Highlights Advanced Heart Rhythm Care in Chennai
The Tamil Nadu Cardiac Electrophysiology Conference (TNEPIC) 2026 concluded in Chennai on August 26, 2026 after a two‑day scientific programme that brought together more than 300 healthcare professionals from India, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Australia, the United Kingdom and Canada. The conference was organised under the auspices of the Cardiological Society of India, Chennai and endorsed by the Indian Heart Rhythm Society.
The event was held under the theme “The World of Heart Rhythm Disorders – Where Electrophysiology Meets Innovation.” The scientific agenda covered supraventricular tachycardias, atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardias, non‑ischaemic cardiomyopathies, cardiac devices, syncope, sudden cardiac death and emerging electrophysiology technologies such as pulsed‑field ablation and leadless pacemakers. Sessions combined advanced lectures, case‑based learning, debates and hands‑on training using simulators.
The inauguration was performed by the Honourable Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, Thiru J. C. D. Prabhakar, who remarked that Chennai is emerging as a centre for advanced cardiac electrophysiology and heart‑rhythm care, and praised the organisers for creating a platform for knowledge exchange. A tribute was paid to the late Dr Ulhas Pandurangi, followed by the presentation of Lifetime Achievement and Distinguished Teacher recognitions. Dr T. R. Muralidharan received the “The Heart of Gold” award, while Dr C. Narasimhan was honoured with the “The Maestro of Medicine” award.
Dr K. Jaishankar served as the Organising Chairman and Dr P. V. Sanjai chaired the Scientific Committee. Organising Secretary Dr Deep Chandh Raja S explained that the conference was conceived to disseminate information on advanced treatment options for atrial fibrillation, SVT and ventricular tachycardia, and to showcase innovations such as pulsed‑field ablation and leadless pacemakers, emphasizing the benefit to students through interaction with experts and hands‑on simulators.
Overall, TNEPIC 2026 highlighted the expanding role of cardiac electrophysiologists in delivering specialised heart‑rhythm care and underscored the importance of advanced therapies in improving outcomes for patients with palpitations, giddiness, heart failure and those requiring pacemaker implantation.
