The Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Netflix, hosted a special event to commemorate a decade of Netflix in India, focusing on how storytelling can connect global audiences with India's cultural heritage and tourism experiences. The event featured a fireside conversation between Minister for Culture and Tourism Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos at the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi, exploring how authentic storytelling can inspire travel and strengthen India's global soft power.

As part of the collaboration, the Ministry of Tourism has integrated "As Seen on Netflix" with the Incredible India digital platform, enabling travelers to discover Indian destinations featured in popular Netflix titles. The initiative showcases India's landscapes, festivals, cultural heritage, wildlife, and iconic locations, encouraging audiences to transform on-screen experiences into real-world journeys.

Minister Shekhawat stated that cinema serves as a bridge to culture, heritage, and tourism, noting that every Indian story has potential to inspire global travel. Tourism Secretary Shri Bhuvnesh Kumar emphasized the growing significance of storytelling in shaping destination appeal and how strategic partnerships between government and creative industries are transforming destination discovery through new technologies.

The event showcased a destination film on India's wildlife developed jointly by the Ministry of Tourism and Netflix, highlighting the country's biodiversity and wildlife tourism experiences. A separate film celebrating India's cultural heritage was presented as part of the Ministry of Culture's collaboration with Netflix. The partnership aims to leverage storytelling's universal appeal to position India as a preferred global tourism destination by connecting audiences with the places, people, and traditions featured on screen.
