The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) launched a revamped version of the 'TRAI MyCall' mobile application on August 3, 2026, designed to enable telecom consumers to directly assess and report voice-calling experience quality. This citizen-centric digital platform allows subscribers to share real-time feedback on their voice-calling experience along with relevant network parameters, with all feedback visible to Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) and TRAI in anonymized form.

The application serves as a bridge between technical Quality of Service (QoS) parameters and the Quality of Experience (QoE) perceived by consumers, providing valuable insights to TSPs to help them identify areas where network performance needs improvement and take targeted corrective measures. With over one billion telecom subscribers in India, voice calling remains the most fundamental telecom service and is often the first indicator of network quality experienced by consumers.

The revamped application features several consumer-friendly capabilities including instant rating of voice calls through a simple 1-5 star feedback system, reporting of specific issues such as call drops, echo during calls, audio delay, cross connection, voice breaking, one party unable to hear the other, and calls taking too long to connect. It also includes automatic post-call feedback prompts for seamless participation, rating and feedback history on an interactive map, and a Coverage Test feature to assess signal strength.

TRAI Chairman Shri Anil Kumar Lahoti emphasized that the app strengthens consumer participation in telecom service quality feedback and reinforces TRAI's commitment to a consumer-centric, transparent, and data-driven approach to improving telecom services. The application is available for installation on Android devices from Google Play Store.
